Apprenticeships at Velta – The success so far…

Shannon was the first apprentice we ever took on at Velta, and neither the company or Shannon have looked back since:

Shannon’s role at Velta began back in 2007. In her first six months at Velta Shannon spent time in each of the departments, learning about all of the key elements involved in running a successful freight forwarding company. The experiences that she gained in this time created an excellent foundation of knowledge that has helped to develop Shannon in to a valuable member of the team and elevate her to a management role. “I enjoy working at Velta. Here you are not just a number, you are known on a personal level and there is a personal touch with everything we do. Starting at Velta just before my 18th birthday, I have grown with the company and staff members into the person I am now.”

Our most recent recruit, Charlotte is excelling in her role:

In the short time Charlotte has been with us, she has grasped a working knowledge of how freight and logistics operates, and the running of stock control. Charlotte will continue to develop her skills whilst working towards an NVQ Level 2 in Business Administration. “Being in a working environment is completely different to school, it’s better! I am enjoying every moment, including the busy, hectic days. I was able to leave school knowing I had a job where I could still obtain a qualification and earn a salary at the same time and it was comforting to know that I was joining a company that would support my career development.”
