Protests over high fuel prices are currently causing serious delays to transportation across France.
Angry protestors blocked access to fuel depots and stopped traffic on major roads on Monday after the government refused to back down on fuel taxes following a weekend of demonstrations across France.
20,000 protesters took part in actions around France on Monday including on a highway leading to the Eurostar tunnel.
It has been reported that in an Australian truck driver and a British motorist were both detained on trying to break through a barricade in Calais and that there are still currently long delays on roads throughout France, including on the approach to the Port due to last night’s actions.
Protesters have called for more national action this coming Saturday.
